the come-back of home decor made in america

The end of the 20th century was a period of tremendous outsourcing, and in some areas of the United States industrial production disappeared almost completely. It seems however that the trend today is changing and many have come back around to thinking that local production has a host of advantages. Most people still want the best products at the best price however mass production is not necessarily the solution: more and more people are seeking a personal connection to the objects that they buy and are no longer attracted by items, for instance objects of home decor, that are identical to those that one can find in millions of homes. Marketing campaigns, representing a bigger and bigger chunk of the cost of those mass produced items, are no longer sufficient to attract the educated consumer. And the network society has in fact opened up myriad possibilities such that high quality local production can have a bright future. The following are a few examples of locally produced American home decor items..
